Team slide in a pitch deck: purpose, rubric and three fixes

Last verified: October 20, 2026

The team slide of a pitch deck names each founder with a role and the background that fits this company: employers, years in the domain, earlier startups or relevant degrees. Investors read it to judge whether these people can build and sell this product, so fit matters more than the length of a résumé.

What this slide is for

At pre-seed the team carries the most weight in the rubric. Names alone score low; relevant experience for each founder scores in the middle; explicit fit with the market and the key roles covered score higher.

What the rubric looks for

The getfund rubric v1 does not score slides one by one. It scores dimensions across the whole deck, and this slide supplies evidence for the ones below.

  • Team, getfund rubric v1, score 3: Relevant experience (domain, technical or commercial: employer, years, degree) stated for each founder
  • Team, getfund rubric v1, score 5: As 4, with a track record that directly de-risks this plan (built and scaled a similar product or company)

Three fixes

  1. Give every founder a role and one line of background that fits this market.
  2. State the years in the domain or the earlier startup, with the employer or the outcome.
  3. Show who covers product, technology and sales, and name the first hire if one is missing.

A template sentence

Fill the brackets with your own confirmed facts. Do not copy the sentence as written, and do not invent a figure to fill a gap.

[Name], [role]: [years] years in [domain] at [employer]; previously [what you built or sold].

The check that applies

getfund rubric v1, Required sections (4 points): Problem, solution, market, business model, traction, team and ask, each found by keyword in English or Turkish: points in proportion to the sections found

The required-sections check looks for team, founder or co-founder (or their Turkish equivalents), so label the slide or a line with one of them.

Frequently asked questions

Should I include advisors?
Only if they bring something this plan needs, and say what. A long advisor list does not replace founder experience.
What if I am a solo founder?
Say so, and show how the missing roles are covered: a first hire, a contractor or an advisor with a named task.
How much biography is enough?
One line per person that links their past to this company: employers, years and outcomes, not a full résumé.
